Holman Aviation is located at the Great Falls International Airport, on a plateau 200 feet above the city. Great Falls is the county seat of Cascade County, which has a population of 78.983. Located in the state’s northcentral agricultural triangle, the city serves a much larger regional population. Great Falls is home to Malmstrom Air Force Base and the Montana Air National Guard. Five dramatic waterfalls on the Missouri River give the city its name and some degree of fame for the impediment they caused for the Lewis & Clark expedition in 1805. The wild and scenic Missouri stretches to the east, the Missouri River Canyon opens to the Gates of the Mountains to the southwest.
The Canadian border is only 120 miles to the north, making Great Falls a convenient port-of-entry for air travel from Canada.
The continental divide and the Bob Marshall Wilderness are 50 miles west of Great Falls. The city’s location on Interstate 15 is on a path between two of the nation’s scenic treasures, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. The city’s attractions include the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center and the world-class C.M. Russell Museum of western art named for local cowboy artist Charlie Russell.
